Carbon Laser Peel (Hollywood Laser Peel)

A Carbon Laser Peel applies a fine carbon lotion to the skin, which settles into pores and binds to surface debris and oil. Laser energy from the Lutronic Spectra is then passed over the skin, targeting the carbon so that both the carbon and what it has bound to are lifted away.

Why carbon is used

Carbon acts as an artificial target. It gives the laser something highly absorbent to interact with across the entire surface, allowing an even, superficial treatment that also helps clear the pore lining.

Because the treatment is superficial, it is often chosen before an event or as an entry point for patients who are not ready for resurfacing downtime.

Goals patients bring to it

  • A more luminous, even-looking complexion
  • Reduced surface oiliness and congestion
  • Refined-looking pores
  • A refresh with minimal interruption to daily life

The experience and downtime

The carbon layer is applied and allowed to set, then the laser passes are performed. Patients typically hear light snapping sounds and feel a warm, prickling sensation with an unusual but harmless smell from the carbon.

Most patients leave with mild redness that settles within hours to a day. Sun protection afterward is essential. This is a series treatment: single sessions look good, but consistency produces the more noticeable change.

What it does not do

A Carbon Laser Peel is not a resurfacing treatment and will not correct significant texture, scarring or laxity. Those concerns point toward MultiFrax, Morpheus8 or XERF depending on what is present.
