An Intro to Microblading

March 26, 2023

Wouldn’t you love to wake up every morning with perfect eyebrows? The good news is that this dream is possible! You can stop spending time each day shaping and coloring your brows thanks to microblading!

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a safe and effective process that helps you get fuller, more consistent, and more natural-looking eyebrows. Rather than needing to wake up every day and spend time and effort on your brows, microblading a semi-permanent solution that deposits pigment into your skin and gives you great looking eyebrows that will last for up to a year or even longer.

If you’re tired of the amount of time you spend on your eyebrows and if you just want to wake up each day with full, beautiful brows, microblading could be right for you.

Procedure

The microblading process involves using a sharp tool with rows of barely visible needles to deposit pigment into your skin to create realistic-looking eyebrows that don’t wash off. While it’s somewhat similar to a tattoo, both the process involved and the ink that is used are different.

Microblading uses soft and subtle pigment that is applied superficially to your skin. This means it is a semi-permanent solution and the ink will eventually be absorbed by your body. However, the natural and authentic-looking brushstrokes will typically last for a year or more. This means great looking eyebrows without the daily hassle and effort.

While each person is different, two sessions are generally recommended. During the first, you will choose the color of the pigment and then your brows will be shaped, drawn, and have the pigment applied so that they look natural, symmetrical, and beautiful.

The second session is more of a “touch up” appointment. It usually takes place about 4-6 weeks after your initial session. During this appointment, any areas that need touching up will be worked on and any changes that you’d like to see will be applied.

Who is a Good Candidate?

Microblading is a safe and effective procedure that is suitable for nearly everyone. However, if you have a serious medical condition or if you have very sensitive skin, the process may not be for you. If you are pregnant, it is not recommended that you come in for a microblading treatment either.

When you come in for your appointment, we will discuss your health situation with you and help you determine if this is the right treatment for your situation.

Is it Safe?

Yes, microblading is a very safe process with limited potential issues or side effects. You may experience minor discomfort during a session. Many people report that microblading can feel like a pinch or sharp scratch. There may be slight bleeding during the treatment, but this is only true for some people.

If you come into a safe, respected, and reputable wellness center such as Grace MedSpa & Body Solutions, you know that you are dealing with a caring and experienced professional. We want the best for your health, wellness, overall beauty, and happiness.

Results and Recovery

You may be slightly sore in the area following a microblading session. However, as mentioned, most people do not consider the treatment to be painful. The sensation is more of a discomfort than pain.

There is some aftercare to remember following your session. You should try not to get your eyebrows very wet or sweat excessively for about a week after your treatment. You will want to avoid significant sun exposure during this time as well, since the area will be more sensitive.

We will talk to you about the right aftercare methods and make sure that you know everything that we recommend to help you heal quickly and ensure that your brows look their best following your treatment. In general, your eyebrow area will heal completely after about four weeks, but swelling or redness will go away within a week.
